Working with the architecture and design company Make:good I created a projected entitled We (heart) Thames ward, situated in Barking Riverside Thames Ward is one of the largest brownfield developments in Europe. Working on isolated sites, the largest being Thames view estate I engaged with local schools, youth clubs, community groups, citizens and local businesses through creative storytelling. This has been documented through the use of film, installations, workshops and publications and has provided a tangible platform for public feeling in the local area, by gathering thoughts, memories and experiences from local people. The end of the project culminated with a exhibition of a giant hand drawn map (5 x 3 meters) that I made of the area. Alongside the map were 3D models of the area that were created through workshops. Many different materials and techniques were used some highlights were knitted clouds, letterpress printed planes, and miniature people made out of corks. A series of 150 A4 photographs were produced and printed which ran alongside the exhibition.
